Welcome!
Here, you can read stories about Samael Aun Weor, (Hebrew, pronounced sam-ayel on vay-ohr) the founder of the modern Gnostic movement and author of over seventy books about Gnosis, the profound wisdom from which all the world's religions have emerged.
Gnosis: Experiential Knowledge
"There are authors who write marvels, but when one looks at them, one realizes that they have not lived what they have written; they did not experience it in themselves, and that is why they are mistaken. I understand that one must write what one has directly experienced by oneself. I have proceeded in this way on my part." - Samael Aun Weor, The Initiatic Path in the Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah

Samael Aun Weor remains largely unknown in the English-speaking world. But in his native Latin America, he was known internationally as the founder of the very widespread Gnostic Movement and writer of over seventy books about the universal cosmic religion from which all mystical and religious traditions blossomed.
In recent years, due to the efforts made by a small handful of people who arrived in English-speaking countries in order to share their experience and enthusiasm for the practical and effective science of Gnosis, interest in Samael Aun Weor has been growing. Each year sees new schools, new students, and new interest in the man and his message of compassionate service, individual development, and the urgent need for radical change (the three factors). Yet, in spite of the many books and lectures now available in English, the English-speaking students and instructors know very little about the man himself, his life, his sufferings, his humor, and his great sacrifices. This website aims to change that, by providing a repository of anecdotes, stories, recollections, photographs, and personal writings from the life (and lives) of Samael Aun Weor. The editors of this site welcome your support and participation in this unique project. If you find that we are missing a story, photograph, or important event from his story, share it with us. Also, this website is only in the beginning stage, so please be patient, as it is one of many on-going projects; we will be adding to it when we are able. |

The name "Samael" is very ancient and carries a very deep and extensive history. It is possible to understand the meaning of this name and its use throughout mythology and scripture if we first understand a little about Kabbalah and the Hebrew language. Without this knowledge, we fall into the ignorance of those who condemn Samael as a demon or negative force, while ignoring that this is the name of an angel: the suffix -el is Hebrew for God, thus all angels of the Hebrew pantheon are called Michael, Uriel, Raphael, etc.
One should also keep distinct the various parts of the Being, as St. Paul indicated: The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven. - St. Paul, from 1 Corinthians 15:47
Samael Aun Weor explained this here: The Innermost of every human being is a child of a sidereal genie (Logos) and there are as many Fathers (Innermosts) in heaven as there are human beings on earth. In each human reincarnation, every human being is born under a different star so that the ego is “rounded off,” little by little. But there is a star that rules our Innermost, and that Star never changes: this is our Father Star. This Star is our Father who is in the heavens. There have been “stellar moments” for mankind, in which the sidereal Father of a great genie (Monad) has been able to speak and express himself through him, in order to initiate new cycles of spiritual culture. I, Samael Aun Weor, am only the child (Monad) and the instrument of “Samael-Mars,” and what I teach you is the Wisdom of my Stellar Father. Each one of us (as Monads) has his spiritual and astral inheritance from his Stellar Father who is in heaven. - The Zodiacal Course
